The 10 commandments

I am currently studying Theology and Religious studies at Roehampton University. One of my modules is 'Introduction to the Bible' and, at present, is the most interesting part of my life.

I often say to people that I am not a Christian or a Jew as much as I am not a Muslim. I am a follower of the religion of Abraham.

Although all of what I study is enthraling and important, there are certain things that I find to be highlighted before me. The below Reference to the Bible is one of those that, for me re-itterates the need for belief in the 'religion of Abraham' to take more importance as a label to that of 'Islam'.

'Then God spoke all these words: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an Idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath...'

Complexities of the human condition

Facebook

What is it?
Essentially, it is a tool to watch and monitor other peoples lives.

What is/was my relationship with Facebook?
I was/am addicted to it.

To summarise;
I was addicted to watching other peoples lives.

As ashamed as I am to hear/read myself say that it is the truth and as with any addiction the 1st step is owning up to that of which has taken over your life in a destructive and negative way.

Today is day 3 of the rest of MY LIFE an item for attention!
